• ISP 800 Indigenous Issues in the United States (3 credits)
  • 18 hours of coursework with content relevant to the field of Indigenous studies approved by the student's Faculty Advisor in consultation with the Director. A list of approved courses can be found on the Program’s website. Students may take courses not on the approved list by demonstrating how their understanding of Indigenous perspectives and/or methodologies will be advanced by taking the course.
  • 9 hours of electives
  • An M.A. examination: an oral examination in which the candidate defends their portfolio, which will be composed of the student's entire body of work completed in courses counted for the degree
