Biography —

Matthew C. Beil is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. He received his B.A. in history with a minor in dramaturgy from Saint Leo University. He received his M.A. in ancient history with language acquisition from the University of Indiana, where he focused on ancient economics, food production and nutrition in the Early Roman Empire. He is currently a Ph.D. student in KU's History Dept. with a focus on Bodéwadmi (Potawatomi) and Anishinaabe history.
